Speedo Swimwear to Donate 200K USD to the Michael Phelps Foundation

Speedo Swimwear shone like a gigantic pearl in the Beijing Olympics! Almost every Olympic swimmer, diver, synchronized swimmer, etc wore the brand when they took to the pool. But, every other athlete this year was eclipsed by American swimmer Michael Phelps and his staggering eight gold medal win. And with every medal that Phelps won, Speedo swimwear was right there beside him. Now, even after the games Speedo swimwear and Phelps are still great collaborators.

Speedo swimwear was one of the first brands to take notice of Phelps. Before he left for China, Speedo had struck a deal with him saying that they will give him 1 Million USD if he wins 7 medals or more. And since Phelps came home with 8, Speedo swimwear is more than happy to honor their promise.

Now, Phelps has decided to make good use of his Speedo money. He has decided to donate the 1 Million USD check he was getting from Speedo Swimwear to the Michael Phelps foundation. Speedo supports him in this endeavor. Even more Speedo swimwear announced that they will be donating another 200K USD to Phelps’ cause. This means that more kids will benefit from Phelps’ wisdom and experience. Plus, they will have the backing of one of the biggest athletic swimwear brands in the world today.
